It's been a few weeks since we first started with 3d modeling, and I must say, it's still one of the coolest things I've done this year. editing sub-objects created a more easy way to make shapes. Splines, at first, were difficult just because I was too stupid to go into the Front View Port. I've had the best time 3d modeling, and I think it's one of the things I'm better at in this class. I still can't wait for DDA 2, since that's just 3d modeling and animation, or so I'm told. In any case, I'm glad I got the opportunity to do this unit. It helped me calm down and not be so stressed about this class, as well as make me at least think that I'm good at something. (The actual 3d modeling assignments have been helping my grade, but I need to do more of the blog post stuff. Oh wait...) I think that texturing has been my favorite thing so far, because it adds, at least in my opinion, more of a story. For example, the tanks had to be textured in one of the most recent assignments. There were two teams, battling it out. After slightly changing the two tanks, as to not make it the exact same as the enemy team, I created two colors, green and purple. I added different metal, making one side look older than the other, with slightly oxidized metal. One of the things that is most likely going to be difficult in the future will be scaling in scenes. It took me a while to get the size of the tanks and the space ships also fighting in the scene to the perfect size.
In conclusion:
Thanks for reading, and check your axle to make sure that your wheels are line up!
